Hartblei Company was the first who comes on the market with Kiev 88 camera that have Pentacon Six type of bayonet (model Kiev 688). That makes the camera attractive for the photographers who had Carl Zeiss Jena lenses. It gives unique opportunity to use these lenses with modular camera with changeable film magazines.
Also the camera was supplied with cloth shutter, tripod plate and side-mounted shutter release button. The constructive changes have been made to the camera, which continually improved all over the time.
It was soon represented the camera with mirror lock-up mechanism (version Master). Later the camera was provided with folding winding crank.

At the same time the modernized Kiev 456 camera with 4.5x6 cm format was represented. A little bit later both Kiev 456 and Kiev 60 cameras have been offered with mirror lock-up mechanism too.
The company was the first who offered customers the cameras with black coating of the body and different variants of external leather cover. Recently, decision to cover the camera with colored leather borrowed HASSELBLAD Company.
Hartblei Company is the first and the only one that offered the camera that is compatible with HASSELBLAD system. This camera obtains the name HARTBLEI.
Advantage is that it can be used HASSELBLAD film magazines with HARTBLEI body or HARTBLEI film magazines with HASSELBLAD body. Because of this structural solution, interchangeability of HARTBLEI and HASSELBLAD systems was achieved, which considerably increase the opportunities of photographers.
Every Hartblei's camera is checked throughout the manufacturing process. Each camera is hand crafted and is not mass-produced! That's why we have extended delivery term for these cameras.
